THE POSITION

The Senior Sales Manager reports to the General Manager based in London and will be a key member of the European and African Sales and Marketing team. Building on existing relationships as well as establishing new business relationships you will be responsible for Africa. To cope with the technical nature of the sale it would be beneficial if you had engineering sales experience of steel pipes or related business.  Building customer relationships is paramount in this role and the ability to deal at all levels is crucial. You will be expected to exceed the sales targets and strategic sales growth objectives as defined by the business. As part of the role it is expected that you will record, review and follow up as well as suppling reports as required. Travel overseas mainly in Africa will be required.

Winning new business and setting a sales strategy, while managing current key accounts comprise the key accountabilities. With energy, integrity and the enthusiasm to seek out opportunities and build positive customer relationships, you must be comfortable working within a specification driven environment.

 

THE CANDIDATE

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual, who is disciplined to make their own plans and execute them without day-to-day management.

·         Fluent in English, with working French an advantage

·         With a minimum of 4 years successful previous B2B sales experience to major oil and gas companies. Maintaining good business connections/network with the customers.

·         Knowledge or good exposure to the steel pipes business, ideally selling seamless steel pipes to industry especially in a technical sales environment would be very beneficial.

·         Computer literate

·         Well educated, ideally with a technical degree level qualification.

·         Strong self-motivation and target-driven

·         Good adapting capability to multi-culture business environments

·         Willing and able to travel to African oil producing countries when necessary and where reasonably secure.

COMPENSATION

The compensation package is very competitive according to experience.

Basic Salary - £45,000 to £55,000, phone allowance + traffic allowance.
