Job description

Partner – SAM Headhunting UK

(Part of the SAM Headhunting Group, Europe)

About SAM Headhunting

Founded in 1993 in Denmark, SAM Headhunting is now the dominant headhunter in the Nordics, and is expanding rapidly internationally. The growth rates SAM has driven have been based on a business model where it’s Partners work and share in its success. SAM’s systems are internet based, and this enables us to work with pace, but without the clutter and costs of expensive infrastructure. This gives us unique market advantages in terms of our fee structures to our clients, yet still enables us to operate profitably to the mutual benefit of SAM and its Partners.

The UK market is one that is, as yet, under-developed for SAM, although it is now delivering growth with a new Partner network established during the last three years. We are looking for new Partners, based all over the UK, with a passion for business, customer service and variety to build market share, and directly enjoy the profit from that growth. The investments required by SAM of its Partners are their time, commitment, energy and drive. Financial investment isn’t a pre-requisite of becoming a SAM Partner, although it is an attractive option.

SAM’s strategic objective is to become a leading headhunter in every country in which it operates.

SAM has a unique business model and, along with an increasing number of international accounts, this has created a platform for an exciting future.

We identify the 7 main characteristics that frame our unique market position as follows:

  • We believe in “Search” over “Selection”; that is to say that we rarely recommend advertising positions in the open market because it adds expense, slows the process, and limits candidates only from those in the market looking for work
  • All SAM Partners are experienced business managers from different industries. This means we understand the day-to-day needs of our clients, and how they should be represented to the candidates.
  • Our processes are internet based without the cost and clutter of a tangeable infrastructure. We use technology for consistency of application and speed of delivery.
  • Our lean structure means our cost base is low. This means we can be very competitive on price and still retain a viable financial business model.
  • Our fees have a high success based element. This means our clients know we are motivated to deliver to specification and on time.
  • SAM partners don’t delegate key tasks. We hold the reins over the important activity in our work.
  • We are one business, and have one system wherever we operate. This means we can lean on the experience of other partners who have worked on similar assignments in in other countries.

Why Join SAM Headhunting?

There a number of compelling reasons why joining up with SAM is a good idea:

  • SAM is already an established brand name across many parts of Europe.
  • SAM has an impressive set of reference customers, many with UK operations.
  • SAM already has a proven record of success that many Partners have shared in many countries.
  • The SAM internet based systems are immediately available to all new Partners. They are simple to use and provide Partners with a working system that is fast, reliable and almost totally paper-free.
  • SAM’s website www.samheadhunting.com is already written up and working. SAM’s on-line strategy is to attract new prospects and candidates.
  • SAM’s international Partner structure provides an important network of mutual support.
  • SAM doesn’t ask for a financial investment immediately. A new Partner can use the power of the SAM brand and networks to give them a real head start in the market place.
  • Any investment made enables involvement in the annual profit-share scheme. Involvement and benefits are directly in proportion to the size of the investment.

SAM has evolved a unique market position, not just within country states, but across borders. Partners participate in real and virtual networks that no other headhunter can match.

The Responsibilities of a SAM Partner

SAM UK is looking for Partners to become a vital part of our growth, especially in the North of England and Scotland.

The main tasks are:

  • To search and develop new business. This is focused on Executive Search and specialist niche roles.
  • To manage each search assignment to successful completion.
  • To develop their own customer base.
  • To develop and support a network that enables us to find the right candidates at the right pace.
  • To be a part of the team to develop SAM in the UK.

Working from a home base, they will form and administrate their own company.

Working time is infinitely flexible. Time invested is directly related to the result. All that is required is self-discipline, a working space, a telephone and a lap-top linked to a broadband service.

SAM Partners work independently with responsibilities for their own client base.

Unlike our competitors, we don’t focus on key markets. We reckon that if we ensure that the brief is tight and specific, then we can use that to look for any role. This means that SAM Partners have a very varied working life and are constantly open to new experiences.

This is not a dull job!

The  Profile of a SAM Partner

Successful Partners usually have direct business experience at management or executive level. They will probably have led sales teams at some stage in their career and have been P&L responsible. They understand how business works and can use that experience to relate to their clients, in whatever business sector they operate. Experience of Executive Search, or formal HR, are not required.

Candidates will have energy, drive and a passion to for success. They will probably enjoy taking calculated risks, and yearn for variety to fuel their inquisitive and outgoing nature. Having said that, they will also have the self discipline to manage each assignment within the agreed timetable, and keep clients regularly informed on progress.

They will have outstanding communication and presentation skills and enjoy the company of people at all levels. A sense of humour is more than useful. Shrinking violets need not apply.

They will have good office IT skills and be able to run their business from home. The personal investment required is limited to setting up a UK office with reliable hardware, although they will require the resources to maintain their lifestyle during the period the invoice flow develops.

They will need their own car and will charge clients for out of pocket expenses while working on their assignments.

Earnings

Partners are self-employed and can sell attractive fees versus competitors. The low cost base means that work may be very profitable. SAM retains part of the fee for the support material, website management and the provision of the intranet and company systems. In addition, a Partner with a personal investment will benefit from the growth in the share value that is directly linked to results.

For the right candidate, this represents attractive earnings.
